Privacy Policy
Last updated 21 July 2026
Short version: we collect the few things we need to give you an account and tell you when it’s ready. We don’t sell your data, we don’t run ad trackers, and you can ask us to delete everything at any time.
Who we are
Spatial Design Club is a creative tool for making art in AR and VR, run as a sub-club of Techie Club. Techie Club is the organisation behind it, which is why our emails come from techi3.club. If you have any question about this policy, or want your data removed, email [email protected] and a person will answer you.
What we collect, and why
| What | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your name | Early-access form | So we can greet you properly and set up your account. |
| Email address | Early-access form | To email you about your spot, and as your login once you’re in. |
| What you want to make | Early-access form (optional) | Helps us prioritise features and get you set up. Skip it freely. |
| How you found us | Early-access form (optional) and the ?src= tag on links we share |
Tells us which channels are worth our time. Nothing more. |
| IP address and browser | Automatically, when you submit the form | Rate limiting and spam defence — that’s it. No profiling, no ad targeting. |
| Password | Only when you activate your account | Stored as an Argon2id hash. We never see or store the password itself. |
| Your scenes and uploads | Once you’re using the app | So your work is there when you come back. |
We never ask for a password on the early-access form. If a page claiming to be us asks for a password before you’ve been sent an invite link, it isn’t us.
Emails you’ll get
Two, at most, before you have an account:
- A confirmation that you’re on the list.
- Your invite, when a spot opens, with a link to set your password.
No newsletter, no drip campaign, no “we thought you’d like this”. After you have an account we’ll only email you about the account itself.
Leaving the list
Reply unsubscribe to any email we send, or write to [email protected]. We’ll delete your row — not just flag it — and confirm once it’s done. No exit interview, no retention offer.
Where your data lives
We keep the number of companies touching your data as small as we can:
- DigitalOcean — hosts the app, the PostgreSQL database, and uploaded files.
- Resend — sends the two transactional emails above. They see your name and email address.
- Sentry — collects error reports when something breaks, so we can fix it.
- Google Fonts — serves the typefaces on our pages.
- Stripe — handles payment if you ever subscribe. Card details go straight to Stripe; they never reach our servers.
That’s the whole list. We don’t use analytics or advertising trackers, and we don’t sell or rent your data to anyone.
Cookies
One cookie, sdc_session, set after you sign in so the app knows it’s you. It expires after 8 hours.
There are no advertising or tracking cookies, which is why you don’t see a consent banner here.
How long we keep things
- Waitlist entries — until you activate, or until you ask us to delete them. If we’re clearly never opening your spot, we’ll clear the entry.
- Accounts and your work — until you ask us to delete the account.
- Invite links — 7 days, single use. We only ever store a hash of the link, never the link itself.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — and we’ll do it. Email [email protected]. Depending on where you live you may have these rights under the GDPR or similar laws; we’d honour the request either way.
Young makers
Spatial Design Club is used in classrooms. Student accounts are created by a teacher, and we don’t knowingly collect information from children through the public early-access form. If you believe a child has signed up without a guardian’s involvement, email us and we’ll remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we change anything meaningful about what we collect or who we share it with, we’ll update the date at the top and email anyone on the list.
